Here is what is currently possible (8PI Control Panel version 2.03 / SPI Storm Studio version 1.1.8).

1) Multiple devices that use 8PI Control Panel as control software can be used on the same PC.
This applies to GP and Xpress series devices being used together.

The 'Smart Router' application will connect to the device by serial number.
Multiple sessions of 8PI Control Panel can be started. One device can be selected for each session through the menu: Tools > Select Device

2) Multiple Storm can be used from the same PC simultaneously.

3) Since 8PI Control Panel version 2.03 and SPI Storm version 1.1.8, SPI Storm and GP/Xpress series devices can be used simultaneously from the same PC.

- There is a known issue when unplugging / replugging a device while 8PI Control Panel and SPI Storm Studio sessions are open.

To avoid this issue, please make sure that all devices are connected to USB ports before starting each software session AND keep them plugged in while hte 8PI Control Panel and SPI Storm Studio sessions are open.
If you need to unplug one device, please unplug all devices, close all running sessions, including Smart Router and then replug all devices, and restart software sessions.

This issue will be corrected in a future release of 8PI Control Panel.
